COVID-19 Vaccines: Two Clinical Trials Approved

On 8 September 2020, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut approves a phase II clinical trial for a vector vaccine candidate from Janssen in Germany, which will also be conducted in parallel in Spain and the Netherlands. This is followed on 9 September 2020 by the approval of a phase II/III clinical trial for the mRNA vaccine candidate from BioNTech; this relates to the German part of a global study being carried out in around 120 study centres.
