On 1 July 2019 it is finally settled that the new location of the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut will remain in Langen. The purchase contract for the Kronenhof premises in Langen is officially notarised. This clears the way for a new building directly opposite the current building. The new building will be state-of-the-art: energy-efficient, with high-quality laboratories and space for modern working structures. It is projected that the planning and construction period will be around ten years, the estimated building costs are 415 million euros.
