On 15 November 2019, Prof. Daniela Krause receives the Langen Science Award 2019 for her research, which aims to prevent the recurrence of leukaemia. Cancer stem cells can evade cancer therapy in the bone marrow, allowing leukaemia to return and grow after treatment. Prof. Krause and her team are looking for inhibitors that prevent the leukaemia cells from interacting with the microenvironment of the bone marrow.
